Surprisingly, it is not legal to be in possession of handcuffs, that require a key to be opened, in Australia. Handcuffs are technically classified as weapons and as such, only authorised people are allowed to carry them.
Despite this, many people will have a set of handcuffs in their naughty draw beside the bed. As long as they are not taken out into public you will be fine. However, if your house is raided, then you may be charged possessing a weapon.
