The legality of sleeping in your car in Australia comes down to the council area you are in. For the majority of Australia, it’s fine.
Sleeping in your car near a busy beach will generally see you receiving a move on order.
Queensland is basically a no car-sleeping state in it’s entirety though.
The obvious exception to the rule is sleeping in a caravan park, public camp ground or on authorised private land.
