Unlike America, where different states have different laws regarding the time that a child can be left in a car, Australia has a hard line on this. It is illegal in all states to leave a child under the age of 12 in a car for any length of time.
Police and civilians frequently smash car windows to get children out of hot cars thanks to the horrible humans who lock them in there.
