All snakes in Australia are protected under the Nature Conservation Act of 2014 and therefore, it is illegal to kill a snake in Australia.
This law is however waved if the snake is threatening human life. If you see a snake around your home, it’s best to call a snake catcher.
Unless of course it’s threatening to bite you. Keeping wild snakes as pets is also illegal without the proper licence.
